Kampala Uganda | Costume and Apparel

I am Kibirango Ogal Gabriel, a creative artist navigating spiritual awareness, artistic expression, and cultural identity through design. Through my cottage design business, I explore indigenous materials such as barkcloth (lubugo), hides, skins, and natural fibres in my community as eco-friendly materials and portals to cultural archives.
My journey has been recognized across East Africa: I was awarded Best Designer for Heritage during the Inter-University fashion Challenge, showcased at Nairobi Design Week (2026) as an emerging designer and exhibited at Kwetu kwanza (2025). I have been featured in Fablstyle Magazine as an artist turning barkcloth into a healing fabric and profiled on the Afri-Art Fashion Show blog as a multifaceted creative driven by sustainability and community impact.
The Studio Craft
We are a creative platform rooted in culture, artistic freedom, and sustainability.
Born from the belief that culture is living and creativity is a form of freedom, our work responds to the loss of tradition, restricted creative voices, and the growing impact of climate change. We create spaces that bring artists, artisans, and communities together through expression, learning, and collaboration.
At the heart of our practice is artistic freedom. We believe creativity should exist without borders, fear, or judgment. Through collective making, cultural documentation, and shared learning, we preserve heritage while opening pathways for innovation.
Using art as a language, we encourage dialogue and inspire action around climate change, recognizing that sustainable futures must be shaped through culture, community, and imagination.
