Who is Terry Katamba Gregory?

Designer Terry K.G, Born and raised in Kampala, Uganda is a creative passionate and problem solving fashion enthusiast who has worked in the fashion industry for more than half a decade. His high ability to transfer technologies, provide sustainable solutions to our everyday problems and his love for culture is what makes his works stand out. As a creative director of Smile International, Africas first Luxstreey brand, he continues to push the boundaries of creativity along encouraging many other youth.

Started in 2020, Smile International is a sustainability culture driven brand that has specialised in Luxstreey (the luxury of streetwear) and using its means to help disadvantaged communities. In this age of fast fashion, a lot of fashion wastes affect the environment and later cause bigger problems like the kiteezi garbage slide, the nakivubo water flood incidence. With modern upcycling and recycling techniques Smile International repurposes most of these wastes to make new garments that are environmentally friendly. The goal is this to reduce the waste percentage from 23% to 18% by 2030 and later drop the percentage to 8% by 2050.
